Exhibit at Manhattanville University: Showing Work by Clare Romano, John Ross and Tim Ross

Opening October 15th and running through March of 2027,  this exhibition at Manhattanville University, curated by Tim Ross, shows the work of artists Clare Romano, John Ross, and Tim Ross. It includes collagraph plates, prints, drawings, paintings, artist books, and photographs, among other pieces.

Clare Romano was an internationally renowned printmaker, graphic artist, and painter. The first distinguished Professor at Pratt Institute, she taught printmaking to Pratt students for decades. Romano first came to Pratt in Venice in 1988, where she developed the Pratt in Venice Drawing and Printmaking course into what it is today. Notably, she established the strong relationship with  La Scuola Internazionale di Grafica, a relationship that the Printmaking course still nourishes and depends upon today.

John Ross was a painter, printmaker, graphic artist, and maker of artist books. He taught painting at Manhattanville for 25 years. He joined Pratt in Venice and co-taught every summer with Clare Romano for over a decade.

Together, Romano and Ross authored the internationally renowned text The Complete Printmaker, whose second edition was also authored by Tim Ross.  Clare Romano and John Ross’ work is in major museums internationally, including The Brooklyn Museum, The British Museum, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Clare Romano and John Ross’ work continues to inspire students and influence the Pratt in Venice program. We urge everyone to visit this wonderful exhibition that is dedicated to their work.
