A Special Note from the Director

December 1, 2021

Dear Alumni/ae and Friends of Pratt in Venice,

I’m writing to let you know of our recent activities in the time of Covid and our on-going plans.

During the past year, the Pratt in Venice team has:

  • interviewed alumni from our inaugural year, 1984;

  • held a zoom lecture by John Witty on an altarpiece by Paolo Veneziano, which is usually our first stop in the group visit to the Accademia;

  • sent out our quarterly newsletter, La Serenissima, which features alumni/ae shows;

  • stayed in touch with many of you via email and phone;

  • maintained our ties with our Venetian partners: Università Internazionale dell’Arte; the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica; and others.

And we have been corresponding or meeting with accepted and prospective participants for Pratt in Venice 2022. Pratt alumna Rachel Moog has again designed the brochure, which is available on prattinvenice.com.

We are anticipating a healthy group of gifted participants. And many students have applied for financial assistance. So, I am again appealing to our wonderful alums and friends for contributions to the Pratt in Venice Scholarship Fund. Every dollar in the Venice Scholarship Fund can help a student participate. Pratt in Venice Scholarship Awards are determined by a faculty committee, and the gift is deducted directly from the student’s bill for the program.

We remember fondly reconnecting with so many Pratt in Venice alumnae/i as a result of the 35th Anniversary celebrations– whether in Venice, or New York, or the virtual symposium.

If you haven’t already done so, please take a look at our website* and contribute to an experience that will be savored and will bear fruit for a lifetime.

You can make your gift of impact directly to the Pratt in Venice Scholarship by visiting giving.pratt.edu/prattinvenice or by sending in a check at the address below.

Tanti saluti,

Diana Gisolfi, Director, Pratt in Venice
With team Michael Brennan, Joe Kopta, Fay Ku, Joey McFadden, Vicki Luo
