Pratt in Venice will inaugurate its celebrations in honor of the 35th year of the program with the exhibition, Infinite Jest, on June 13th, at 6.00 pm.
Pratt in Venice has had an exhilarating summer and fall preparing for the 34th annual Pratt in Venice exhibition! Unveiling the latest artwork by our students in Pratt Institute’s East Hall Gallery this past Monday, the opening reception was a whirlwind of celebration and excitement for the Pratt in Venice program. We were very proud to show our 2018 cohort’s fabulous accomplishments. Works on display included paintings, prints, mixed media, textile-based art, 3D modeling, glasswork, posters showcasing student art historical research—and even a hand-forged sword!
The night was a huge success! The opening reception was crowded and bustling with attendees, including Pratt Institute President Frances Bronet, numerous alumni/ae of the Pratt in Venice program, practicing artists, interested students, faculty, administrators, friends, family, and supporters.
The work this year was so strong that the exhibition has been extended to be open an additional week, until Friday, October 27th, so that more people can experience the pieces.
Be sure to swing by Pratt Institute and see the amazing artwork now on view in the East Hall Gallery. While you’re in the gallery, be sure to participate in our silent auction of select student work exclusively to benefit the Pratt in Venice Scholarship Fund!
Last night's 31st exhibition opening reception was a great success! Many alumni, faculty, staff, and interested students came by to enjoy the beautiful art, delicious food, and great company.
The 31st annual Pratt in Venice Exhibition opens Monday, November 2nd, from 5-7pm, in East Hall's 2nd Floor Gallery on the Brooklyn campus.
The 30th annual exhibition opens Monday, November 17th, 2014, and runs all week until November 21st in East Hall’s Second Floor Gallery on Pratt's Brooklyn campus.
We are very excited to invite you to the 29th annual exhibition. As in past years, the exhibition showcases the work of this summer’s Pratt in Venice program, featuring works in painting and printmaking as well as research projects done by current Pratt students.
The exhibition opens Monday, November 4th, and runs all week until November 8th in East Hall’s Second Floor Gallery on the Pratt Brooklyn campus. We will be having an opening party November 4th from 5-7 pm with refreshments, a slideshow of photos from this year’s program, a silent auction for the works to benefit the scholarship fund, and a chance to meet and mingle with alumni.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
Highlights from the show include current junior Max Tovar’s detailed etchings that sold like hotcakes, junior Kaitlin Mazzei’s large oil canvases of realistically rendered scenes from every day Venetian life, and junior Melina DiMarco’s hazy, nearly abstract oils of Venice’s canals and natural features.
