Pratt in Venice 35th Anniversary Exhibition

Exhibition Dates: October 21–November 1, 2019
Exhibition Opening: Monday, October 21, 2019
Steuben Gallery, Pratt Institute, 200 Willoughby Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11205

Submission deadline: September 1, 2019

We are delighted to announce the Pratt in Venice 35th Anniversary Exhibition, celebrating over three decades of bringing the practice of art and its study together in La Serenissima. In addition to the exhibition of work and research by the class of 2019, our expanded exhibition space will include three gallery spaces dedicated to the work and research of our illustrious alumni from every year of the program since 1984.

We are pleased to accept submissions from Pratt in Venice alumni for exhibition. We are soliciting work from alumni in three categories:

  • Works of art in any medium to be exhibited in the Steuben Galleries;

  • Research of any kind (books, articles, theses, research posters, diagrams, or any other materials) related to Venice, or that began or has ties to your experience in La Serenissima, to be exhibited and available for consultation in a study lounge at the center of the galleries;

  • Photographs, documents, and testimonials from your Pratt in Venice experience. Both historic materials (such as photographs) or newly-recorded or written testimonials are welcome. These materials will be exhibited in a welcome gallery showing the experiences of Pratt in Venice alumni.

We hope to receive submissions from every Pratt in Venice participant! This exhibition is intended to be inclusive and demonstrate the accomplishments of our illustrious alumni since the program’s inception.

The exhibition will be curated by Pratt in Venice studio faculty Michael Brennan and Angela Conant, in consultation with art history faculty Diana Gisolfi and Joseph Kopta. Please note that unfortunately, Pratt in Venice cannot pay for any shipping costs of work to the Brooklyn campus. Participants are encouraged to bring their work directly to the Pratt in Venice office, East Hall 202 when possible.

Please be in touch with the Pratt in Venice office at venice@pratt.edu with questions at any point!
